Hi! I've been streaming since Tuesday, the 9th of January 2024.
Things I've learned so far:
- At least for me, as a streamer from Germany in the categories Just Chatting and Co-Working, it's more easy to get a new viewer during the week, rather than on the weekend. I think more streamers are active on the weekend.
- It's key to notice a new person who writes a message in the stream chat. Because if you don't react, he will be gone very quickly. Therefore, I recommend to setup the program Chatty. Using this piece of software, you can create an audio notification, if someone writes in your chat. And in this way, you can promptly react to the person.
- It's better to do one long stream during a day, rather than three short streams. The long stream helps to build up viewers and followers.
- Raiding is an amazing networking tool that should be used as often as possible. It will be more easy to get acknowledged and create a connection with the streamer, if the streamer's channel size is similar to your own channel. Also I recommend picking a streamer where you are genuinely interested in that person or in his content. When I'm not streaming and I have time, I try to research streamers with these properties who are currently live and I follow the ones that I like. I follow them so that I can quickly decide on someone to raid after my next stream.
I will update this post as time goes by.
